December 2015 Theme – Celebrating Cosmic Consciousness

December is a month we celebrate the birth of Jesus. In Religious Scientist/Unity, we do not exclusively celebrate the birth of the man, but expand our celebration to the birth of the Cosmic Christ in all of us, using the man as our Master Teacher. This month, we celebrate what it means to live from a place of Cosmic Consciousness.

FOR RELIGIOUS SCIENCE:
December 2015 Talk 1 - “Putting on the Christ”
In the Science of Mind textbook, Ernest Holmes writes, “Christ is a Universal Idea, and each one ‘puts on the Christ’ to the degree that he surrenders a limited sense of Life to the Divine Realization of wholeness and unity with Good, Spirit, God.” Today, we “put on the Christ” through surrender of limitation and acceptance of Truth. Now, that’s something to celebrate!

FOR UNITY:
December 2015 Talk 1 - “Putting on the Christ”
In Atom Smashing Power of Mind, Charles Fillmore writes, “Manifest man, personal man, began evolving the ideal man, that is ‘putting on the Christ,’ ages and eons ago. We are now nearly midway in this evolution.” Today we move us along in our evolution as we “put on the Christ” through surrender of limitation and acceptance of Truth. Now, that’s something to celebrate!

December 2015 Talk 2 – “Heeding the Cosmic Urge“
The Cosmic Urge has been described as the desire of Spirit to express Itself. That Urge manifests itself in the macrocosm as the creation of Universes and all that inhabit them and in the microcosm as the creation of our unique, individual lives. How are you heeding the Cosmic Urge in your life? Today, we celebrate ways you have said “yes” to it and explore ways you may expand.

December 2015 Talk 3 – “Earthly Symbols with Cosmic Meaning“
[NOTE: There are different talks for Unity and for Religious Science centers.]
The trappings of the season are everywhere, from Menorahs to lights on a Christmas tree. Today, we celebrate the cosmic meaning behind a few of the symbols of the season, realizing that each one can be a tool to support our expansion into Cosmic Consciousness.

December 2015 Talk 4 – “The Celebration Continues”
[Minister’s Note: This service offers a time for the congregation to set their vision or 2016, write themselves a letter about it and have prayer over it. It also has a testimonial from a congregant who didn’t know his value until beginning his spiritual journey. See the talk script for details.]
The holiday meals have been eaten, the presents have been opened and the festivities are concluded. It may feel like a bit of a letdown, but we have saved the best for the last here at [insert name of center]. In this special service, the celebration continues as we deepen into our Cosmic Consciousness in a variety of unique and absolutely perfect ways.
